Senior Assistant Psychologist and Co-director
BSc (Hons) Psychology, Manchester Metropolitan University
Hannah gained her BSc (Hons) Psychology degree at Manchester Metropolitan University in July 2018. Hannah’s interest in Psychology and knowledge began to develop whilst studying A-level Psychology at Rochdale Sixth Form where she successfully achieved a grade ‘A’. Hannah has experience with children of both high-school and primary-school ages as well as with adults who are parents of children with many complex needs; she supported these adults as part of her role as a Family Volunteer befriender within the NHS.
Since joining Beyond during 2018, Hannah has assisted our Clinical Psychologists with psychological assessments of children and families and supported the formulation and delivery of therapeutic interventions. Hannah completed her Theraplay Level 1 training and has supported many families therapeutically over the past few years. A large part of her role includes collecting data and conducting audits of projects to ensure all our interventions are measured for impact and effectiveness. You will also see Hannah co-delivering and co-ordinating the therapeutic groups and training workshops to young people, parents and professionals. During 2022, Hannah has led on our most recent Online project, ‘The Beyond Psychology Academy’ which is where our online Level 1 & 2 Attachment and Developmental Trauma courses can be accessed – these courses support our work within training schools, colleges, social care and other organisations who access our Whole-Setting Trauma Informed Training.
“I have a professional and personal interest and passion for the work we do at Beyond. On a personal note, I am a member of a family that has fostered children for 15 years, I understand the impact of early life trauma and how important it is for those who care for cared for children to receive compassionate and specialist support. Professionally, I intend to develop my academic profile further in not only the area of Psychology but also business development via Digital Marketing. This is to ensure the services we offer at Beyond can continue to develop in quality, and through the power of Digital Marketing we can create a larger social impact by reaching more people which overall, supports our mission in spreading awareness of the impact of trauma and supporting recovery.”
Outside of my role at Beyond Psychology:
I love being active so you’ll find me in the gym lifting weights, in a fitness class, or on a big walk, (or smaller walks) with my little dog Wilbur. This is well balanced with going out for food and drinks in Manchester with friends – my fave food is probably Greek or Indian! And as much as I can, I love to travel; I spent a month in Mexico at the end of 2022 which was so so fun!
